My big fat Greek & Italian wedding

I went to my cousin's wedding in Worcester on Sunday. We are Italian (Dad's side) and his wife is Greek. The wedding was at a beautiful Greek Orthodox Church. Rumors were running wild in my family that the service was going to be 3 hours long, but alas it was not. It was a pretty cool wedding--everything was in both Greek and English and they sang all the words and said everything 3 times each. The bride's side of the church was full of Greeks who had seen this all before; the groom's side was full of Italians who didn't know when to stand or sit or what to expect from one moment to the next. We played a kind of follow-the-leader. The Greeks would stand, and half a second later the Italians would follow. The Greeks would sit, and we'd follow. It reminded me of when I was in elementary school and I'd go over to my friend Wendy Isaacson's house for dinner. Her family was kosher and I knew there were rules but I didn't know what they were. If Wendy took a bite of her potatoes I took a bite of my potatoes. If Wendy took a sip of water I took a sip of water. I mimicked her every move knowing it would keep me out of trouble. I wonder if anyone noticed?

Seen on the road to the outlet mall. There's really nothing else to say.
